Many Germans explained after the second world war that they had never been aware of the concentration camps and what was going on there.

To buy stolen property in good faith is not as bad as if you know that it is stolen property.

It is better not to know. It is easier to be happy if you don't know what is going on.

I have to comment about your last line. "It is better not to know. It is easier to be happy if you don't know what is going on."

I say we are to realize, to KNOW that most people are "trapped" in madness. Knowing this does not create more happiness in those that are aware. But, knowing this does help to bring to the surface one's own underlying sense of peace. And in doing that, being that PEACE "others" are transformed because we are all connected.

Therefore, to not "know" what is going on keeps you trapped in madness, with an underlying anxiety that will sabotage your "happiness" every time you "think" you are HAPPY.
